Artful Expressions of Love

Last night I fell asleep quite early but I remember my daughter trying to wake me up. She was saying something about a surprise. But my eyes just can't seem to open.

It was already early morning when I woke up with a start. My daughter was sleeping beside me. I saw these drawings on the bedroom table and can't help smiling at my daughter's artful expressions of love.

I probably have dozens of these coming in all sorts and sizes of paper. The small ones are tucked in my wallet, the bigger ones in a clear book. Some are pinned on our cork board or held by magnets on the fridge.

She is especially fond of drawing us together and it will always come with the words "I love mama". I know she will not always be this expressive especially when she grows up but I'm hoping she will not change. Maybe it's about time I draw something for her, inscribed with the words "I love Ada".

Restyled Witch Costume

I first used this black dress as part of a witch costume last Halloween. Together with my black tights, witch hat, and boots, it was just perfect for a pretty witch costume. As you will see in my succeeding posts here, I am fond of recycling things I have so I can still use them for other purposes. That includes my clothes.

So I traded my witch hat for a headband, my boots for my brother's slip-on shoes, and removed the tights so I can achieve a casual look.

Now, without a witch broom as well, I will have to find another way to fly in my restyled witch costume.

Sige Moms Share Saturday Family Bonding Activities

Since today is Saturday, let me share with you how the Circle of Sige Moms of Breeze Sige Sabado Movement spend this day bonding with their respective families. For those who are not familiar with this special group of women, these are moms who have adopted the "Sige sa mantsa" parenting philosophy. This philosophy is all about allowing kids to be kids by exploring and learning positive values even at the expense of getting dirty and stained.

For rocker mom Barbie Almalbis-Honasan, Saturdays are spent filling the house with music. Barbie and her daughter have fun doing music together as she hands her child with an instrument while she practices.

Christine Bersola-Babao makes sure that she has at least three days of arts and crafts every week. How to do that? Weekends start early at the Babao's so from Friday to Sunday, she says we'll probably catch them molding clay or rolling real dough in the kitchen.

Moms Dimples Romana and Gladys Reyes would rather be in the kitchen with their children when not taping a show. Dimples shared the she spends Saturdays with her daughter who is currently taking cake decorating classes. She makes special mention as well of their regular family weekend trips. Gladys is especially proud that her son's love and creativity for baking is now being seen as well in his paintings and drawings.

Nikki Valdez, being another musically inclined mom, shares her love for singing with her daughter. When not crooning together, her daughter loves spending Saturday afternoons riding the bike.

So there you have it, five celebrity moms sharing how they like spending their weekends with their family without fear of creating a mess. The Circle of Sige Moms fearlessly thread the world of paint spills, kitchen clutter, glue leaks, and scattered glitters because they have products like Breeze to rely on.When we think of our lives, we'd probably realize that messy moments can be the best memories we can create with our children.
